Hungarian conjugation (1)

Trying to conjugate the verbs “to buy”, “to look at/to watch” and “to go” at the present tense in Hungarian. And some use of the negative form and asking questions!

 

veszni = to buy
Veszek egy könyvet. = I buy a book.
Veszel húst. = You buy some meat.
Ő vész ruhákat. = He buys some clothes.
Veszünk gyümölcsöt. = We buy fruits.
Vesztek néhány bútort. = You (pl) buy a piece of furniture.
Ők vesznek házat. = They buy a house.

Nem veszek könyveket. = I don’t buy books.
Nem veszel húst. = You don’t buy meat.

 

nézni = to look at, to watch
Nézem a vonatot. = I look at the train.
Nézed a televíziót. = You watch TV.
Nézi a ő tükörképét. = He looks himself in the mirror.
Nézzük a várost. = We look at the city.
Nézzétek meg a képet. = You (pl) look at the picture.
Ők a horizontot nézik. = They look at the horizont.

Mit nézel? = What are you looking at?
Nem nézem a vonatot. = I don’t look at the train.
Nem nézzük a várost. = We don’t look a the city.

 

menni = to go
Hova mész? = Where are you going?
Megyek a strandra. = I go to the beach.
Mész a pékségbe. = You go to the bakery.
Megy az étterembe. = He goes to the restaurant.
Megyünk az állatkerbe. = We go to the zoo.
Mentek a könyvtárba. = You (pl) go the library.
Mennek az iskolaba. = They go to school.

Nem mennek az iskolaba. = They don’t go to school.

 

!TO REMEMBER!
“-t” at the end for the accusative/object case.
“-ra/re” suffix indicates an open direction or a surface.
“-ba/be” suffix indicates a closed direction, when you go into a place.
